Process of Honeypot Goldendoodles!

To Help You Make Your Decision:

Once you have decided that you are ready for a puppy and that one of

Honeypot mini Goldendoodle puppies is right for you

Next, after we have received your application we will review and usually get

back with you within 24 hours. If we agree that you and your family will be the

right fit then your next step will be to submit a $500 deposit (non-refundable).

Once we have received payment then we will reserve the puppy agreed upon.

The ($500) deposit will go towards the purchase price.

Before pickup be prepared for your new puppy family member.

To welcome your new puppy to their new homes, being prepared will make

their transition more smoothly.

Here is a list of things we suggest.

Although there are many good brands of dog food, we have learned

through many years that we prefer certain ones. We recommend you

continue using the same brand of puppy food to continue feeding your

puppy until 6 months old when you can switch to adult.

Things We Recommend:

- Fromm Puppy Food, blue or pink bag depending on puppy’s size

available on Amazon. Merricks, Blue, Nutro, Tractor Supply has 4

Health which is decent, we like their 4 Health canned Puppy food and

adult food. The first ingredient on dry food should be the chicken, or

beef, not any grain. Do not use foods with Meal or chicken or beef “by

products”. Do not use dry foods with corn in it, a lot of dogs develop

allergic reactions and skin conditions.

- As your puppy gets older 4-6 months old, some treats such as just a few

blueberries, a few bite size pieces of apple, cantaloupe, cherry

tomatoes, cooked broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots. NO citrus

they will get diarrhea and you will quickly learn never to do that again.

- Toxic foods that can kill your puppy/dog that require emergency vet visit:

chocolate, grapes, apple seeds, apricot pits, avacados, cherry pits,

chives, coffee, onions, garlic, macadamia nuts, moldy foods,

mushrooms, raisins, walnuts, pokeweed (any part), artificial sweeteners

such as erythritol, xylitol, mannitol, Swerve, aspartame, sweet n’low,

etc. Be careful of plants philodendron, fresh mistletoe. This names a

few.

- DocRoy’s GI Synbiotics/Probiotics- Available at Revival Animal Health

or Amazon

- Slicker/Slicka Brush – available Amazon, and all pet supply stores,

Tractor Supply, Menards, Rural King

- Shampoos: No tear is great when very young, Mane and Tail shampoo

and conditioner, or other gentle brand.

- Medium or Large Carrier to pick up your puppy if hand to hand pick up.

Airlines have specific requirements if arranging for personal or nanny

travel.

- Lg Crate with divider- consider for at home. Available on Amazon

& Chewy.com

- Snuggle puppy- Available on Amazon

- Fromm Puppy Food (Blue or Pink bag depending on puppy’s size)

Available on Amazon.

Toys we recommend or to avoid

- DO NOT buy any toys made in China, that were plastic or similar

products, as they do not have the same safety standards as the U.S.,

puppies and dogs have died from toxicity of the plastics, colors, paints,

etc.

- Be careful on Amazon as you search for toys made in the U.S., A LOT

are NOT made in the U.S..

- Be careful of toys with squeekies in them as the puppies get older they

can chew the squeekie out and choke on them.

- Nylabone is made in the United states and has some great designs,

including one that looks like teething ring.

- Benebone is great, it comes in different sizes, and flavors, we prefer the

“Y” shaped ones, vs. other designs less likely to get stuck in their dogs

mouth. Recommend you read the reviews on the products from other

owners, I learn a lot from the reviews.

- Stuffed toys with sewn on eyes, nose, mouth, nothing they can chew off

like button eyes, etc.

- Avoid balls that are smooth surfaces without grooves and such, reports

of dogs getting them stuck in their throat and vets not able go grasp it

due to it being smooth, and not able to extract it, unfortunately they

died.

- Just some suggestions, you are welcome to contact us with questions.

Pickup Day:

Puppies can go home at eight weeks old or soon after. We will provide you

with pickup dates available. Puppies will go home with his/her littermate

scented blanket, 2 yr genetic health guarantee-puppy contract ), (view

contract) health record, copy of vet check. Your new puppy will have his/her

first set of shots, up-to-date dewormings and microchipped. We recommend

to schedule a vet visit within seven days after you brought your puppy home.

We highly recommend to stay away from pet stores, public potty areas, dog

parks etc… until the shots are completed after 18 weeks, or until your vet

gives you the okay. Puppies do not have full immunity until their last vaccine

at 15 weeks, then you need to wait a few weeks for the puppy to develop

antibodies against the vaccine. Though none of the puppies that have been

adopted from my kennel over the past 25 years have had exposure to rest

stop dog walking area diseases, I have heard from other breeders that

puppies they sold died after picking up parvovirus and other diseases when

the new owners stopped on the way home and put their new puppy on the

ground in these public areas. Things to bring along when picking up the puppy

for your ride home as this will be a new adventure for your new puppy. (Paper

towels, a small bottle of soapy water -a blanket for passenger if possible to

hold/supervise the puppy on the ride home, though a well-padded medium

carrier with a crate pad, yes, the puppy may go to the bathroom on this, but is

much safer for the puppy, and cleaner for your lap, and the pad can be

cleaned).
